If you're like me, you're happy the cool, fall weather is here and the hot, humid days are over! Every morning this summer I arrived at Tsurumi University all covered in sweat. I had to change my clothes before teaching my summer intensive course. Now we have nice cool, fall weather. It's much better for studying, and of course, it's football season in the U.S.! Who is looking forward to watching the NFL? Only me, right? Oh, well ...
We haven't blogged in a long while, so today, let's do some blogging in Essay Writing class. You have two themes you can choose from:
1) "used to"
Write a short, true story about something you used to do. It can be from your childhood days, or from a more recent time, such as high school or college. Use "I used to ..." or "We used to ..." somewhere in your blog. Write at least one paragraph.
2) The Senkaku Islands Dispute
We talked about this a little in class, as we try to stay abreast of current events. What is your opinion on this issue? Do you support Japan's position? Do you think China's position has some merit? Write a paragraph about your thoughts on this.

I think Senkaku islands is Japanese territory. Japan had been fishing on this island before. And It is a record that international territory of Japan addition. But have said that their territory from China next year and the Chinese know that there is oil near the island.

I used to prepare food when I was a high scool student. Because I was a homemaking club. I cooked various cuisine with another member every Tuesday. We cooked ginger-flavored slice of fried pork and a fried pork cutlet. There are a made dish a lot of the other. But I don't prepare food recently, because my mother prepare a meal for meeverytime. There is no chance that I cook at home. That's why I am very weak in cooking. But I'm 20 years old so it's about time I started to practice cooking. I think taht I would like to go to a cooking class sometime in the near future.

I Used To Play Baseball
When I was a primary school sixth year student, I used to play baseball. It went to twice a week. I played baseball of one year because I like baseball better than kendo. So I resign from baseball. I choose kendo.
But when I was a junior high school student, sometimes I play baseball on a break or holiday.
Now I don’t play baseball because I am nothing to free time on daytime and I am not so stamina. Moreover, now I don’t play Kendo too. So I am fat.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was child, I used to go to swimming school twice a week. I had asthma. So, I tried to cure asthma by going to swimming school. I used to commute to swimming school from six years old to twelve years old. And, fortunately, I could cure asthma.
When I was little, I used to live in Yokohama. I and my older sister had some friends close to us in age and we played together a lot. We used to played house or with dolls. Now, I and my sister haven't lived there and met them for a long time. I hope we can meet them someday.
ReplyDeleteI chose (1)"used to". When I was a child, I used to catch insects, ants, ladybugs, beetles, and so on. The house I lived in was near a small forest, and I used to go there with my father. There were parks near my house, and I caught many insects and picked many flowers there. Now, it is difficult for me to catch insects, even ants, and I don't pick flowers in parks. But, this memory is good and important to me.
ReplyDeleteI used to learned swimming when I was 5years old. I liked swimming. I enjoyed swimming at swimming school. But I don't like swimming now. Because when I was 6years old, I got tympanitis. It was very painful. So, I couldn't swim. It was sad for me.
ReplyDeleteI used to play in outside just about everydays when I elementary school. I liked to play everyone in schoolyard. I was covered with mud everyday. There were a lot of the hurt too. I was angry to my mother.But I did'nt stop to play. I like very much exercise still.
