Essay #6 - You have a choice of topics!

Greetings, fellow writers and scholars!

This week I will introduce Essay #6, and this time you have a choice! The choices can be divided into A. Easy or B. Hard. Honestly, I don't care which one you choose. If you choose A, please try to do your best to make it interesting. If you choose B, it will be challenging, but please follow my guidelines and do your best. Of course, it should be interesting, too!

Choice A
Title:  The Three Things You Need To Be A Good ______
(Friend, Parent, Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Husband, Wife, Worker, Citizen, Band Member, Team Player, Student, Test Taker, Study Abroad Student, Host Family, etc.) Only choose one!

Your essay must have an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion that repeats and summarizes the 3 things. There is no model for this essay, but I think you can imagine what it should look like. Use phrases like, "You must have ...", "You should ...",  "You have to ...", or "A good ___ always ..."

Choice B - Data essay with a graph
This is an essay that gives some useful information and explains part of the information with an original graph. You can make the graph with Word, and Kevin will show you how to save it as a jpg file to insert into your Google Docs essay. Below are some rules you have to follow if you choose this option:
  • Your essay must have an original graph that you made yourself; no graphs copied from the Internet.
  • Your data and information must be accurate and up-to-date.
  • Your graph must show the data correctly.
  • You must have references for your data. Include the URL in your essay.
  • The information in the graph must be explained clearly in the essay.
Below are links to some Data Essays by former students.
