In this week's class, we are working on our final unit, Narration. Here's another example of writing done by a former student of mine, Mai Funasaka. Notice that there is some dialog in the story, which is a requirement of the last assignment.
The Reason I Cook Every Day
One summer day, I talked to my mother. That day at home, I was stressed out. There were many minor reasons. So I said some mean words to my mother.
“Mom, listen to me. Today is my worst day. There were so many bad things.”
At first she listened silently. But I continued, “I missed the train, so I had to wait an hour.”
My town is far from the city, so there are not many lines. It is a usual thing that there is one train an hour. It is inconvenient, but I was used to it. However, today I got angry. Everything made me angry.
“And today is too hot!” I was even angry about the weather.
“Mai, you are annoyed. Why? Are you hungry?” Mother asked.
“No, I just had a bad day,” I said.
Mother said, “OK, I see, I see. But don't complain to me.”
It made me more angry. I continued complaining.
“Mom, this lunch was not good. I don't like such things. You always make the same things. I'm tired of it.”
“Oh, well, if you think so, you should cook every morning,” mother said. “It's a lot of trouble. Maybe you can cook better than me.”
Then my anger peaked. “Kusobaba!” I cried.
She hated being called such a name, so she got angry, too. The next morning, there was no lunch. The next day after that, too. My mother never cooked for me again. So I cooked for myself every time. But I’m not good at cooking. And I use frozen food, so my skill is not growing.

Essay Writing Class by Kevin helps my English writing skill improve so much. Through this year, we wrote many essays with various topics. He is helpful and has many interesting stories that he had experienced abroad.
ReplyDelete"Tsurumi Eats!" is a web site where restaurant reviews written by Essay Writing Class students are posted. I think it is very useful for everyone to be able to check it from our own cellphones and computers. Also, there are only frank comments to the restaurants because all of them were written by the students!
I'm terrible this class becauze I don't understand english. But I enjoyed this class because teacher's fun. This class is good.

In this class, I have wrote many essays in english. This thing is difficult foe me. I mistook grammar or word in my essay but I improved each mistake with Kevin. I was happy that I finished my essay.

This Essay Writing class is difficult because it's difficult for me to write essays in English. But this class is so fun because we talk about breaking news almost every time. About this site, it's good, but sometimes I couldn't write a comment. About Tsurumi Eats, it's great. I want to go to introduced restaurants.

ReplyDeletefirst I though this class is very hard to take this class. Beacaouse class name is essay writing! I'm not good at writing english. And“who is the kevin mirror?” But i try to take this class. But now I really enjoyed to take this class. why? Because kevin is best teaching English in Tsurumi university!!!
